Karvounis Spyridon

Karvounis Spyridon was raised in Lefkada where he resides. He received his engineering degree from the School of Civil Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. From 1980 until 1987 he worked at the Technical Services of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, where he prepared studies for hospitals, health care centers and welfare institutions. Between 1987 and 1992, we worked at the General Hospital of Lefkada where he was involved in the layout design and renovation of areas of the hospital, the creation of the new radiology lab, as well as securing the licensing for the Artificial Kidney Unit. From 1992 until 1995, he worked at technical services of municipalities and communities of Lefkada (ΤΥΔΚ) and was involved in projects for all the municipalities and communities of the island. Between 1995-2012 he worked at the Special Service for Large Public Infrastructure Projects (ΕΥΔΕ/ΜΕΔΕ) of the Hellenic Ministry for the Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works, supervising large-scale projects such as the “undersea tunnel linking Preveza-Aktio”, upgrading the “Igoumenitsa-Preveza highway” as well as portions of the “Agrinio detour” and the “Arta-Filippiada detour”.

He has served as deputy-mayor of Lefkada, prefect advisor, city council member of Meganisi island and later of Lefkada, chair of the municipal port fund of Lefkada, chair and managing advisor of ETANAL management organization, administrator of the (KEK) vocational training center of Lefkada, chair of the Technical Chamber of Lefkada, president of the Philharmonic of Lefkada, chair of the Association of Certified Engineers of the Ministry of Health and Welfare and president of the Healthcare Workers Association of the Lefkada Hospital.

He is married and has two children.
