Lazaris Ioannis was born and raised in Spanohori, Lefkada. Although he is a chef by trade, he has been involved in the transportation business since 1985. In 2004 he and his brother Michali founded their travel agency. He is the president of the local soccer team, PAS Sfakioton. He was a council member of the municipality of Spanohori for a four-year-term, and since 2013 has been the secretary of the Prefecture Board of the Lefkada branch of PA.SO.K. He is married and is the father of four children.
